Privacy Policy
WebToolBay (the “site”) takes your privacy seriously and handles personal data as described below, in line with applicable law. This policy applies to your use of the site.
Last updated: 2 August 2026
1. Information we handle
The site does not require you to create an account. The following information may nonetheless be processed in order to provide the service.
- Contact form: name, email address, and message content, all entered by you
- Weather feature: approximate coordinates, if you grant the browser location permission, used by your device to make the API request
- IP lookup feature: a request to an external IP lookup service to retrieve your public IP and related network details
- Automatically stored: local values such as browser language and theme preference, saved for convenience (localStorage)
- Server logs (hosting): standard access logs may be recorded by the hosting environment, such as GitHub Pages
2. Why we use it
- Providing the features you request, such as weather, calendar, and IP lookup
- Receiving and replying to enquiries
- Investigating faults and improving quality
- Meeting legal obligations
3. Retention and deletion
Enquiries are kept only as long as needed to reply and are deleted without undue delay once that purpose is fulfilled. Settings stored in your browser's localStorage are removed when you delete them yourself or clear your browser data. Location data is not stored long term on any server; it is used only to process the request.
4. Third-party services
The following external services may be used to provide features.
- Open-Meteo (weather data)
- ipify / ipwho.is and similar IP and region APIs
- Formspree (contact form delivery)
- Google Fonts and other font or CDN providers
- GitHub Pages (hosting)
Each service may process data according to its own policy.
5. Cookies and personalised advertising (AdSense)
If advertising services such as Google AdSense are used in the future, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, and you can opt out of third-party vendors' use of personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
If you disable cookies, personalised ads may not be shown.
6. Your rights
You may use the contact page to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the enquiry content relating to you. Settings saved in your browser can be managed directly on your own device.
7. Children's privacy
The site does not operate a service aimed at children and does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 14.
8. Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the update date at the top of the page will be revised and the new version published on the site.
