Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Here are the questions that come up most often. For a fuller explanation, see the guide for each tool.

Is the site free?

Yes. Every tool and guide published so far is free to use. Ads may appear in the future, and if they are introduced the privacy policy will be updated to explain how they work.

Do I need an account?

No. Almost everything runs directly in your browser. Only a few settings, such as language, theme, and your chosen city, are stored on your device.

Why is the weather showing somewhere other than my location?

If you declined the location permission, or the browser could not supply a position, the default city (Seoul) or the city you saved previously is shown instead. Press the “My location” button to request it again, or use the city search to change it.

The lunar and solar dates differ slightly from my calendar app.

The conversion library draws on data derived from the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute, but the result can differ by a day from other apps depending on how leap months and notation are handled. For legal deadlines or ancestral rites, please confirm against official sources as well.

My IPv6 shows as “Unavailable”.

In most cases the network does not support IPv6, or the lookup path returns only IPv4. Your IPv4 address along with the ISP and region details can still be displayed normally.

The text extracted from my image is inaccurate.

Recognition is tuned for printed type, so handwriting, heavily decorated fonts, and blurry or tilted photos produce many errors. Cropping tightly around the part you need and using a photo taken straight on will improve the result noticeably. See the image-to-text guide for details.

Is the image I upload stored on a server?

No. Text extraction happens inside your browser and the image never leaves your device. The only exception is the recognition language data, which is downloaded once from an external CDN.

Extracting text from an image is slow the first time.

That is because the recognition data for the language you picked is downloaded on first use. Once it has been fetched it is cached in your browser and later runs start quickly.

I cannot convert to WebP on my iPhone.

Safari-based browsers do not support saving WebP. The tool detects this and disables the WebP option, so please use another browser such as Chrome, or convert to PNG or JPG instead. There is more detail in the image format conversion guide.

Does converting JPG to PNG improve quality?

No. Information already discarded when the file was saved as JPG cannot be recovered, and changing only the container tends to make the file larger. Choose PNG only when you need a transparent background or lossless storage.

Does the photo's capture information survive conversion?

No. EXIF metadata such as the capture location and camera details is stripped during format conversion.

Does cropping or rotating an image reduce its quality?

Cropping, rotating in 90-degree steps, and flipping horizontally or vertically only move or discard pixels, so quality is unaffected. Reducing the size loses almost nothing either, but enlarging beyond the original cannot invent detail that was never there, so the result looks soft. See the crop and rotate guide for details.

I am having trouble selecting the crop area.

Drag on the image to create a selection; drag a corner handle to resize it, or drag inside it to move it. When the output has a fixed shape, such as a profile picture or a thumbnail, it is easier to lock the aspect ratio first and then drag. With the ratio locked, only the four corner handles appear so the proportions cannot break.

How accurate is the speaking time estimate?

The baseline is a typical presentation pace (300 characters per minute in Korean, 130 words per minute in English), and real pace varies from person to person. Read the opening of your script aloud, compare it with the estimate, and adjust the pace once — after that it becomes quite accurate. There is more detail in the speaking time guide.

Does it work for English scripts?

Yes. Hangul, Han characters, and Japanese kana are counted per character while English is counted per word; each is timed at its own rate and the results are added together. English terms mixed into a Korean script therefore do not inflate the estimate. Numbers, however, are only counted as characters, so a script full of long numbers takes longer to read aloud than the estimate suggests.

My edits disappeared.

Until you save, the edited result lives only in browser memory, so refreshing the page discards it. Save as soon as you are happy with the result. While editing, you can use “Undo one step” to cancel just the last action, or “Back to original” to start again from the beginning.

I entered an image URL but no color can be read.

For security reasons a browser can only read the contents of images from sites that allow cross-origin access. Addresses that do not allow it show an error, so download the image and upload the file instead. Taking a screenshot and pasting it with Ctrl+V also works. Do the lottery numbers guarantee a win?

No. They are random numbers for reference only and have no bearing on an actual purchase or draw.

How strong is the chess engine?

Beginner looks one move ahead, intermediate three, and advanced five. It is meant for a casual game or for learning the rules rather than for matching a dedicated chess program. The official rules are all there, including castling, en passant, promotion, stalemate, the fifty-move rule and threefold repetition. There is more detail in the chess guide.

Does it work well on mobile?

The site is responsive, so it works on phones and tablets. The games may feel different to control depending on the screen size.
